Role description
We are looking for friendly, supportive volunteers to help us with our morning and afternoon sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Each session runs for 2 hours and we aim to provide 1:1 volunteer support for people with dementia. Activities include singing and music, pottery and crafts and sports and games. Volunteers are encouraged to commit to one regularly session (weekly if possible, but we are flexible) to help build relationships with our members. We also have volunteering opportunities for those interested in gardening, administration, helping with tea/coffee, marketing and fundraising.
Desired Qualities
Friendly and supportive, interested in working with vulnerable adults
How your time will help our organisation
Our volunteers are a crucial part of our organisation and provide 1:1 support to all of our members to help them engage fully in all activities. Without their commitment and input Chrysalis would not be able to function!
Practical Considerations
Experience of dementia is not necessary and ongoing training and advice will be provided.
