Role description

We are seeking a qualified ride leader or unqualified ride assistant to assist us on guided e-bike rides for our young beneficiaries and cycle tourists in West Northumberland.

You will also work alongside our ride leaders and support the young beneficiaries and cycle tourists we take out on rides.

You will also help mentor the young people we help so they can train to be ride leaders/assistants themselves.

This role offers a fantastic and rewarding opportunity to play your part in an exciting community project and help improve the life chances of the disadvantaged young people we are supporting.

Desired Qualities

> Ride leader qualification > First aid qualification > Good working in a team > Good communications skills > Ability to train and share information > Relaxed and caring personality > Relatively fit

How your time will help our organisation

As a not-for-profit, volunteers will be crucial to our success and ability to become self-sufficient and not rely on external funding. You will play an active part in improving the life chances of disadvantaged young people and increasing cycling uptake in West Northumberland. You will also contribute to boosting cycle tourism and revitalising the high street in Hexham and contributing to sustainable transport development and achieving Net Zero.

Practical Considerations

You will need to wear suitable clothing for cycling and preferably have a helmet although we can provide these. You will have use of an e-bike if required. You will need to bring sufficient food and drink on each ride.
